Isoflavone is plant oestrogen obtained commercially from soybeans and other legumes, which acts in humans as a phytoestrogen and an antioxidant.

Uses of Isoflavone:

It is used by some orthodox and many alternative practitioners to treat the symptoms of menopause, infertility and to act against cancer in the breast and prostate.

The clinical benefits of isoflavone for these indications varies from nil to slight in clinical trials.

High levels can be found in tofu.
