Pubic Symphysis

What is pubic symphysis?

The pubic symphysis (or symphysis pubis) is the fixed joint between the two pubic bones, which form the front part of the pelvis. It lies immediately in front of the bladder, and in women above the vagina, and in men, above the base of the penis. It is held together by two firm ligaments, one on the inside and the other on the outside of the joint.
