what is scrotum cancer
how to check for scrotum cancer
Men who have had long-term exposure to crude oil, soot, pitch and other hydrocarbons may develop a cancer on the scrotum. Scrotum cancer appears as a persistent ulcerating sore.
It is treated by surgically excising the involved skin and surrounding tissue. The draining lymph nodes in the groin may also need to be removed.
Scrotum cancer was originally described as a disease of chimney sweeps in 18th Century London. It is now rare due to better personal hygiene.
