Urinary Tract

Urinary tract 3D Diagram showing the kidneys, renal pelvis, ureter, bladder and urethraThe urinary tract (also known as the renal system) consists of the kidneys, ureters, bladder and urethra.

Urine is a waste formed through the filtering of the blood in the kidneys. This waste flows through the ureters to be stored in the urinary bladder, ready for dispelling when the host urinates. The process of urination is referred to as voiding.

The prostate gland is considered to be part of the male reproductive system and not the renal system.
